So many flowers to choose from in the new GinaKDesigns Fabulous Flowers set designed by Melanie Muenchinger. I couldn’t decide so used 3 flowers in 3 colors on 3 cards. The weather here has been so springlike that I had my window open, in the middle of February in Ohio. I may even take the motorcycle out for a spin today.
So back to the cards – let’s just say everything used is from GinaKDesigns (except the embossing folder). That will save some room in the rest of the post. The card bases are Heavy Base Weight White 120 lb. – I love this cardstock for bases, but be sure you score an extra few times to get a clean fold. The yellow strips were embossed – I used a large folder so it would go to the edges. The smaller ones left a smooth area.
I cut out 3 strips at 1-1/2 x 4-1/2 from Lipstick, Wild Dandelion and Wild Lilac cardstock. 9 pieces of white layer cardstock were cut to 1-1/4 x 4-1/2. The 4-1/2 would be trimmed after the flowers were stamped. Then out came my MISTI – it was the only way to do 9 of these in tandem. All the colors were GinaKDesigns inks . The stems were stamped first, and then the leaves in Grass Green. I made sure there was room for the pot before stamping. Then I stamped the pot / vase in Sweet Corn, although one was accidentally stamped in Prickly Pear so I had to do 2 more that way.
The flowers were each stamped in Lipstick, Wild Dandelion and Wild Lilac to match the mats- GinaKDesigns has matching inks and cardstock – and I love all of it. The quality is unsurpassed. I trimmed the white layers to be close to the top of the flowers and adhered them to the matching mats, trimmed the mats, and then adhered to the card base. The sentiment is from the new Springtime Baskets by Clair Brennan. So are the little bees on each of the sets. That is in honor of my grandson, who is getting into bee-keeping. We have to save the little creatures as they contribute so much to our environment and well-being.
Those were the first 2 sets I purchased from the latest release at GinaKDesigns, along with the new AMAZING INCENTIVE STAMP. You can get the incentive stamp with a $75.00 purchase. I can’t say I LOVE this release enough! At the bottom of this post are just some of the other cards I made using just these 3 sets. I am sure I’ll be getting more from this release soon. I always remember something I want right after I place the order – plus I can get extra incentive stamps to giveaway!
So I will leave you now, as there are more cards to be made – and a motorcycle ride to get ready for.
Have fun – Mary Kay
