This last week was the Tim Holtz Extravaganza at Marco’s Paper in Centerville, Ohio. Since I only live about 4 miles away, I managed to get there for several days. There were a lot of fun Make & Takes, a big discount on Tim Holtz products, and a raffle for some Tim Holtz signed items along with other product from Marco’s. *I will have to let you know if I win anything.
If you have never been to Marco’s, you should plan a trip there. The store is a fun place to get lost in looking for all kinds of craft items and paper products. They generally have Make & Takes on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. They are just south of Dayton and north of Cincinnati in Southeast Ohio. They have classes scheduled that you can check out on their classes page.
Below you can see all the cards I made this week while at Marco’s. I only managed to make a couple of the many Make & Takes (Hipster and black/white card with Anthony Gilbert).
One of the classes I took was with Anthony Gilbert of Anthony’s Paper Craft on Friday. We made snowman cards. Who knew it would be 73 degrees that day in Centerville! The class was a LOT of fun, and we made 5 cards; using various coloring tools and different techniques. Anthony is so creative, and we used several of the stamps he sells on his site. His string art stamps are just amazing!
Saturday, it was snowing and 33 degrees! And I attended a class with Donna Sheets with bright, colorful cards and sweet sentiments. We made a shaker card, and used distress inks to watercolor some of the cards. I had to get the IO stamps of the little girl with the balloons and the tree reflection. (note: I am a Stamp Junkie – check out the Facebook group)
I hope to see some of you at Marco’s Paper one of these days. They do a lot to make card making fun. If you pre-order many items before they come out, you can get a 20% discount.
That’s it for now. Mary Kay
