Day 1–The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge

Have had a lot of fun last night and today with coloring — but I need to slow it down a bit or I will burn out (or run out of supplies!)  I had made a personal coloring book with a spiral bound CansonXL Mixed Media book.  Stamps I wanted to practice coloring, or just have colored, were stamped in various mediums (Momento, Archival Ink, GinaKDesign Black Onyx die ink.  That way I could play around with different coloring tools and not have bleeding.  March 1, I was up late because of storms in the are, so I colored a page of the book.20170301_051644These are all Unity Stamps and I  have a lot more of their stamps in the book as they are very well designed stamps and will be a lot of fun to color this month.

When I was up early, because of not sleeping well; I decided to cut the different stamps out to make cards.  Amazing how a rounded corner stitch die makes everything look so much better.  Papers and bling from my stash were laid out and compared to the coloring to come up with SEVEN cards.  Then I went back to bed.

That should be enough for the first day, right?  Except later in the day, this one stamp of a Morning Glory by Anthony Gilbert was calling my name.  I looked up Morning Glories on the internet to get a feel for the coloring required.  Then I surprised myself.  I really like how it came out and have made it the feature of the page.  The white veins of the flowers were done with a Crayola white pencil.  Then I used 2 shades of Spectrum Noir blue markers.  Where the pencil was, the markers left it white. Then a bit of Wink of Stella to add some shine.  This really is my favorite card right now.

Well, tomorrow is Day 2  – can’t wait to see what happens.

  1. I love how your cards all turned out! You went above and beyond on the coloring challenge. 🙂 I’m glad you also did a card featuring a morning glory, they are one of my top two favorite flowers. Can’t wait to see what you color for Day 2.

  2. This card is very beautiful!!! I was hoping that he sold digital stamps too. However, was sadly disappointed to find out not. If you are ever looking for digital stamps that look very similar to his, check out “power poppy (dot) com.” Marcella designs the stamps, both digital and acrylic, herself. She is a wonderful artist!!! A large majority of the stamps are nature/flower based.. Your cards are FANTASTIC and you are a very talented colorist!! I have started followed several of your Pinterest boards. ** just wanted to let you know that I stopped by – Luv2stamp on SN
