Happy Monday – Today is my first day as one of the Growing in Unity gals. Be sure to check this blog all week and make a comment. At the end of the week 2 winners will be chosen from the commenters to win a set of 25 stamps from Unity.
I do love my Unity stamps – so many of them “talk” to me. My hobby is making cards, I don’t do a lot of other creations. But I do love trying different techniques, although mostly in the Clean and Simple or Traditional Styles.
Today is about the Gals. First up is the feature card – Made with Angie Girls Raven. As soon as I saw Raven, I had to have that set. She is ME! From the gorgeous Red shoes (of course they are Red) to the very cool hat. Her outfit has been paper pieced with the top in a red foiled dots piece. There is a piece of red foiled cardstock down the side with “follow your dream” as the focus. The cardstock is Red Velvet from GinaKDesigns. The very true sentiment is from the Raven set. I do like red, can you tell? I had to put some flower embellishments on because the flower parts were too small for me to cut out and piece. Honestly, isn’t that just what embellishments are for?
The second card I am showing is using the set “No Regrets”. My original plan was just having one card per day, but Jennifer McGuire showed the acrylic block method of applying wet inks and I just had to try it out again. So, you’ll get one of those each day also. I used a rounded edge rectangle acrylic block with a couple shades of pink, and applied to a fun piece of paper that it seemed to fit well with. The sentiment in this set is great! I added a ribbon and bow using the black /gold ribbon from GinaKDesigns, and a pretty black enamel heart.
I hope you have enjoyed day one, and be sure to comment to be entered to win some Unity stamps.
