We have made it to the middle of the week already. Time just flies when you are having fun! And I really am having a blast as a Growing In Unity gal.
Be sure to check this blog all week and make a comment. At the end of the week 2 winners will be chosen from the comments to win a set of 25 stamps from Unity.
Today I am presenting my favorite stamp type – Dragonflies I love dragonflies. You would know that if you saw my house, my craft bag, my left shoulder and the back of my Harley-Davidson. I consider dragonflies my spirit creature.
For the featured stamp, I used the Unity set “Dreams Take You”. I had some gold metallic cardstock from GinaKDesigns and stamped the dragonfly twice. Once in Versafine Deep Lagoon, and then used some Ranger purple embossing powder down the center and some ice blue on the outside of the wings. The second dragonfly was stamped in Versafine Majestic Purple with the Ranger blue in the center and purple on the wings. I heat embossed them both. I mounted the cardstock on a mirror background and then stamped and embossed the sentiment from the set in black on silver vellum. I adhered the set to a GinaKDesigns Wild Lilac card base. All that shine called for some extra bling so I added quite a few rhinestones. (note: the description on the stamp set says it is a butterfly, but to me is it my dragonfly)
Following the theme of the week my second card is stamped on an acrylic block watercolored piece done with Distress inks, that was then die cute with an oval, stitched die. I love this stamp set “Dragonflies and Fairies” and the sentiment is one of my very favorites. I stamped the fairy in Versafine Majestic Purple and embossed with a sparkle embossing powder. I embossed the sentiment on some textured purple cardstock. My base card is GinaKDesigns Edible Eggplant and I added some pieces of glitter paper and rhinestones.
These are my craft bags –
I have even more now in different sizes. I got mine from SimplyCharmingBags.com, and she was kind enough to make mine especially in this material.
I hope you enjoyed the touch of whimsy blog today. I can’t get enough of all the Unity dragonflies and fairies.
