Growing In Unity – Day 4

We have made it to day Four, and you are all so kind with your comments.  I just love making cards and really love making Unity cards.  I am so glad you are enjoying them.  Keep commenting on the posts for the chance to win one of 2 Unity sets of 25 stamps.

Today both cards are using the watercolor background.  The feature card is using the stamp set “Don’t Be Like the Rest of Them”  I had used Distress Inks Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed and Picked Raspberry on watercolor paper for the beautiful background.  The rose was stamped in Versamark and embossed with a gold glitter embossing powder.  I cut it into a square, mounted it on a black mat.  This was popped up on a piece I had used an embossing folder on and used the same distress inks to blend on the embossed piece.  This was all put on a GinaKDesigns Dusty Rose card base.
The sentiment, from Unity’s Nia Girl, was white embossed on black, popped on a piece of pink glitter paper that was adhered to the card.

This second card also used the set “Don’t be like the rest of them” – it had 2 great focal stamps.  The sentiment is the same as the featured card.  For this card I used Distress oxide inks, spreading some on my craft mat; then spritzing them with water and dragging a piece of watercolor paper through it.  This was dried with a heat gun and then I applied some more distress oxide inks using the same method.  For this technique, you just keep drying and applying more oxide ink until you are happy with the blends.
I then stamped the focal point with Versafine Crimson Red and embossed with clear embossing powder.  This was cut to a square piece using a stitched die.  The square piece was offset to the side on some yellow cardstock with orange glitter paper down the sides.  This was all put on a piece of Stampin Up Cajun Craze.  The sentiment was stamped and embossed on small piece of the extra watercolored paper and popped up on a yellow piece.

I just had to add this card I had made a bit ago.  It is one of my favorites and needs to be shared.  The card base is GinaKDesigns copper metallic cardstock.  The mirror layer was embossed with a Couture Creations      .  The butterfly stamp is a Layers of Life set called “Who you Really Are” and the sentiment is from “Smile in Your Dreams”.  I stamped the butterfly in Versamark on GinaKDesigns silver metallic cardstock, embossed with Brutus Monroe Penny embossing powder and cut with a stitched die cut.  The sentiment was stamped in black and embossed on a oval die cut piece of the copper cardstock.

I hope you enjoyed today’s cards and I am looking forward to chatting with you tomorrow.     Mary Kay
