Opalescent

Today I am showing 3 cards I made using GinaKDesigns stencils and Deco Foil Transfer Gel, along with the Opal Deco Foil.  This foil is just about the prettiest foil I have ever seen.  The foil has  holographic tendencies and it really looks so Opalescent.

For the Featured card, I used GinaKDesigns Art Stencils – Foliage and applied the Deco Foil Transfer gel using a palette knife.  The other two card backgrounds were made the same way with the GinaKDesigns Art Stencils – Floral – isn’t that just a stunning stencil!  Then I put them in a safe place and let them dry for several hours.  Once the gel gets shiny and dry to the touch, it can be run through the laminator safely.  I cut the foil to size using my Fiskars trimmer – you can use a trimmer for clean edges – as long as you start a bit inside the edge and slide up and down to cut.  Following  Gina’s directions for the foil, I ran it through the laminator in a folded parchment with a cardstock shim under the actual piece to be foiled.   Once the rectangle pieces were ‘foiled’ I went looking for items to finish up the cards.  I die cut a couple with some scallop border dies I had, and matched up with background pattern paper from the GinaKDesigns Softly Spring collection.

The GinaKDesigns Boho Flowers Mini Kit provided the accent pieces. The Boho Flowers Mini Kit comes with a great set of Stamps and dies, along with cardstock, envelopes and an adhesive runner.

The larger You die that I used is also available.

Here are all 3 cards finished:

You1    You2   You3

The butterflies were stamped on thinner cardstock with Moonlit Fog and Bubblegum Pink inks and then cut out with the matching die.  The flowers were stamped on the heavyweight cardstock in the same colors and attached with small foam dots.  I used various sentiments from the kit and cut them out either manually or with a stitched die. The sentiment panels were covered with Wink of Stella so there is a very pretty shimmer that matches up with the Opal foiled designs.   The featured card was finished off with a bit of fancy white ribbon and mounted on silver metallic cardstock.  The other card bases are GinaKDesigns Moonlit Fog and GinaKDesigns heavyweight white.

I can’t wait to use some more of this Opal foil material  – such a gorgeous colorful shimmer!
