Unity GIU Blog Hop

I was lucky enough to be a Growing In Unity Girl in July 2017.   So now we are having our blog hop and I am just as excited to be a part of this.  You should have arrived from Janet’s blog, and there is a list below of all the great blogs in this hop.

Since we are also in the midst of The Daily Marker 30 Day Color Challenge, I decided to use a Unity stamp that I water colored using some of the Daniel Smith watercolor dot sheets.   I really love the sentiment on this card too.  Both these stamps are from the January 2017 Kit of the Month called “When You Smile“.  That was the kit I received for being a Growing In Unity Girl.  This set was from before I signed up, and I like so many of the stamps in the set.  The main focal design was stamped in Archival Ink because I was going to use watercolors.  Once I finished the coloring, I went around the outside with a light blue Zig Brush Marker, and spread that ink using a Wink of Stella Brush.  Such a pretty shimmer.  The sentiment was first stamped in Versafine black, using a post it over the heart piece.  Then I stamped the heart alone using GinaKDesigns Red Velvet ink, using another post it to cover the words. The sparkly little bling is petite posies from Queen and Company.

Oh, and I can never leave without one extra card.  As I was putting stuff away the name of the April 2017 KOTM caught my eye.  Be My Bird.  Could not get out of my head that there was a perfect stamp for that.  Found it in the May 2017 KOTM Free Your Dreams set.
 That bird on the right always struck me as a bit of a pushy bird.  So this card just had to be made.
