Happy August! I will be getting much more active on my blog now – so very much is going on. Got back from Junkie Fest 2018 – one of the most amazing weekends EVER! We had so much fun and I will be blogging about that early next week. So many wonderful people were involved. I will also be blog hopping as a member of AnthonysPaperCraft Design Team! I love Anthony’s stamps, and Anthony. He is just such a great, caring person. I will be working at his booth at Stampaway in Cincinnati the weekend of August 10-11. Stop by and see us. I will also be doing a blog hop with Beth Duff of Duffsdesign this month. She is amazing also – I met her at Junkie Fest and she has some very fun stamps and products.
Meanwhile — sometimes I do things a little bit backwards (as those of you who know me personally understand). Yesterday I was playing with some watercoloring using my Ken Oliver Crafts Liquid Metals drops. After taping down the edges of my watercolor paper, I applied a layer of water. Then I put down some drops of various colors of the metals and brushed it up and down with a 1/2 inch brush. It makes some amazing backgrounds, they shimmer so much.
Today I thought about what to do with them, and went with two stamp sets that I love using together. AnthonysPaperCrafts Natures Silhouettes and Avery Elle Sentimental Too. The Silhouettes are beautiful, with 3 in the stamp set, and I love to use them with colorful backgrounds. The Sentimental Too set has 5 bold scripty words to use with many small word pieces in the set to cover just about any sentiment needed. I stamped in Versafine Clair Nocturne and embossed with clear powder. I did emboss the You are amazing swoop with a glittery black I picked up somewhere.
Although I messed up the first time I embossed the bluish sky one – all is good as I just cut it off and made a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 square card. If you cut off 1/2 inch from each side of a standard A1 envelope and seal the edges, you get a nice squarish envelope to match.
I hope you enjoy these cards as much as I did making them. See you shortly —
Mary Kay
They’re both great!
