Hello and thank you for joining us for the Beth Duff Designs August blog hop! We are happy to have you hopping along with us! Our team and guest designers have created some amazing projects to share with you. Hop along to get some BDD inspiration.
The stamp set “Better Together” from DuffDesigns brought a few memories to mind – so both of my cards are somewhat pop culture related. When I got the set, I stamped out all the food characters over and over on a sheet of cardstock and colored them. Using my Scan N Cut I filled a little bag with all kinds of yummy goodness.
The main card was triggered by the sentiment “Better Together” which reminded me of the ending song in Grease called “We Go Together” as everyone is dancing in front of the school carnival. I could just picture the food characters coming over the hill. The inside sentiment finishes the thought with a silly line from the song.
To make the card I printed a free digi I found online of a line drawing of a ferris wheel on my laser printer so I could foil it after doing the clouds on a white piece of cardstock. The hill was cut from a fun paper pad with a stitched border die. All the fun food characters were popped up (and I drew in some feet and linked arms although it is hard to see in the picture).
Then I HAD to make a second card because the food characters reminded me of that catchy little cartoon / tune from the days at the drive-in. If you don’t remember that , you are way younger than I am. You can check it out on youtube – pretty cheesy for sure but there wasn’t a lot of technology back then.
This card is a great gift card holder – also tying into the inside sentiment. Garish papers from my stash brought me back to the snack shack at the drive-in movies, with a black strip of cardstock to break it up. I printed the sentiments on my printer and added a border around each line and cut them out.
Be sure to follow all the hop members and let them know how you like their creations!
And just to complete your soundtrack for today – here is a link to the Grease “We Go Together” in case you forgot just what a catchy little tune it was.
You are welcome for the awesome ear worms – I hope you enjoy them as much as I do —
