Growing In Unity – Day 4

Happy Birthday day!  Time to show a couple very different birthday cards made with Unity Stamps.  I certainly appreciate all of your support over the last few days.

The happy owl (I do like the owls) comes from the “Hugs, Kisses & Birthday Wishes”  sentiment kit.  This one has a LOT of great birthday sentiments – I went with a simple Happy Birthday sentiment on the front – the inside sentiment is “I hope your Birthday is full of cake and balloons and love and laughter”.   What a great sentiment!

I stamped the owl on watercolor paper and used my zig clean brush markers and a water brush to paint all the fun balloons and owl.  The edging is done with Distress Oxide Mustard Seed.  A colorful background panel and bright yellow cardstock makes it all pop.

My second card is a simple, masculine card.  I used the “Vintage Older Than Me” stamp – one stamp with all kinds of goodness on it.  I stamped in GinaKDesigns Dark Chocolate ink on a kraft panel,  then put that on a Dark Chocolate frame.  This was pop-dotted onto a wood design piece of designer paper on a pale grey cardstock.  I did have to use a white gel pen to pick up the last line – I can never seem to get the letters on a dark background to show up.  Takes practice I guess.

I hope you have been enjoying my GIU week.  These are links to the first 3 days.

  1. That owl is adorable (I love owls, too; all birdies, really). I just colored him up from another set. LOVE how colorful the card is. And I love the ‘vintage’ stamp (I have that one). I have an aunt who loves snarky cards so I really bought it for her card. lol Love the woodgrain BG and also the ’29 again?” in white.
