I had the opportunity to play with some of the new products coming from Thermoweb. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the new flock sheets they have developed. If you have followed me long, you know I do love to use their foils; Mostly those from Thermoweb along with GinaKDesigns and Brutus Monroe preprinted designs and stencils.
My first attempt (and yes, it is that easy) was done with a large stencil and Deco Foil Transfer Gel. I applied the gel through the stencil on card stock with a palette knife, removed (and cleaned) the stencil and then let the design dry completely. The sheet of flock was placed on the dried gel with the flock side down in a parchment folder and run through my laminator just like foil! When I pulled up the sheet, the flocking was attached to the gel. I did some cutting around the edges and popped it up. Those little squares in the openings are just pop dots! It will adhere to toner, transfer gel, double sided tape, double sided foam and any kind of sticky surface.
Here are a couple more I did. The Sympathy card was done using the Transfer Gel and a Tim Holtz stencil along with the black flocking. For the other card, I used double sided adhesive tape on thin cardstock, then die cut the ladder plate and layered flowers.
These die cuts of a butterfly and dragonfly were done using the double sided tape again, and then used the solid dies and blue flock paper for the under pieces. I used double sided tape on thin cardstock and the gold shattered glass foil sheets for the overlay. I have to admit I am hoarding these right now. They are my “precious”!
I can’t wait for this product to be available to purchase in March. The flock is so soft and rich looking on my cards. And so fun to use.
Hugs, and see you soon – Mary Kay
Can’t wait to try this one out.
